About Us — Christian Book Digest

There’s something that happens when the right book finds you at the right moment.

Maybe you were going through a season of doubt, and a book by C.S. Lewis quietly steadied your faith. Maybe a devotional by Lysa TerKeurst said exactly what you needed to hear on a hard morning. Maybe you were new to your faith and had no idea where to start — and someone handed you a book that changed everything.

That’s why Christian Book Digest exists.

We started this site because finding genuinely good Christian books — ones that are rooted in Scripture, honest about real life, and actually worth your time — can feel harder than it should. There’s no shortage of options, but there’s a real shortage of trustworthy guidance. We wanted to be that guide.

What we do

We read, review, and recommend Christian books across a wide range of topics. They include prayer, spiritual growth, marriage and relationships, church history, Christian fiction, devotionals, and more. We also put together Bible verse collections organized by topic, so when you’re searching for encouragement or trying to understand what Scripture says about something specific, you can find it quickly.

Everything on this site is written with one question in mind: would I recommend this to someone I care about? If the answer is yes, it makes the cut. If it’s preachy without being practical, spiritually shallow, or just not worth the hours it takes to read, we say so.

Who we are

Christian Book Digest is written and run by Dan Offin, a Christian writer with a genuine love for books and a deep respect for the people who read them. Dan started this site not as a content project, but out of a real desire to help fellow believers find resources that actually feed their faith.

He writes for the person who has a stack of unread books and isn’t sure which one to pick up next. For the new believer who doesn’t know where to start. For the seasoned Christian who wants to go deeper. And for anyone who has ever finished a book and thought, I wish someone had told me about this sooner.

What we believe

We believe the Bible is the foundation — not a backdrop. Every recommendation on this site is measured against Scripture, and we won’t point you toward a book that contradicts it, no matter how popular it is.

We also believe faith is meant for everyday life, not just Sunday mornings. The books we love most are the ones that help you take what you believe and actually live it — in your marriage, your work, your grief, your parenting, and your quiet moments with God.
